Painting Classes
- These are painting classes for beginner to advanced students. The aim of this class is to help students develop a pictorial reality or style of their own, while also learning the different concepts involved with the different styles of painting.
Acrylics are an important medium to the contemporary painter thus the class is taught mainly with acrylic paint because of the paint’s quick drying time and its relevance.
The use of acrylics gives the student the opportunity for the teacher to correct them within a class period and develop their skills quickly. Nevertheless those who desire to mainly work in oil may, for the use of oil will also be introduced in the course. The mechanics of this class work as follow: each session the teacher will have a studio set up for the students to paint. These studios will be designed with the purpose of teaching the students a new concept in painting. The next session the class will study a particular painter. For those students who already have individual projects the teacher will coach them and give advice on the different concepts and techniques they need to better develop. As a result of the small amount of students per class, every student is insured adequate attention from the teacher, and is allowed to work at their own pace.
