Frequently asked questions

With every new student in an individual session, my first step is to find out what they are passionate about creating and why. This drives the focus of the lesson, such as whether we focus on process and technique, get experimental, or work on building confidence with the materials.

Primarily self taught, I've been creating art for almost 40 years. My artwork has been featured in multiple galleries, and have created commissioned work for several decades. I've taught others in group workshops and individual lessons in a wide variety of venues, such as maker spaces, conferences, conventions, formal classrooms, and in other's homes. I am a certified Grumbacher Art Instructor with upcoming group lessons, and create my own unique, custom tailored curricullum for individual lessons.

In creating my own artwork at live events, the most prevalent question has always been "Can you show me how to do that?" The answer is yes, and it's a lot of fun. I have a wide variety of artistic interests, and sharing what I've learned with others who then come up with new projects of their own is a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.

I have worked with a very diverse range of students, in age, skill/comfort level, and experiences. Whether brand new to creating or an experienced veteran, there is always something new to learn.

I offered a series of art workshops at GenCon this past year, in zentangle journaling and realistic workshops. The classes were well received, and I look forward to participating again.
