How did you get started teaching?
It seemed like a natural next step. I enjoy people and have substitute taught in schools part time. It just made sense to give it a go!
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and genders!! From 5-100!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Well, the paint parties always make me excited! I love to see the look on people's faces when they feel proud of what they have made. The parties tend to run together and are such a ball to teach and be a part of! One that i i remember fondly was a group of foster kids that were mostly indigenous americans. We picked a dream catcher and talked about what their dreams were, some were sad but mostly happy future dreams. We also discussed what traditional dreamcatchers were made of.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be confident! Everyone can create, it's an innate human ability.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What am i hoping to gain? A hobby? A therapy?
