I have always been an active person, and a person who enjoyed the gym. I use to come in to do my workouts going through the day to day, believing I knew about being healthy and getting in a “good” workout. I came to Snap Fitness in August of 2013. For the next year I did the same routines I had done my entire life, occasionally trying something new I had seen another guy doing. Over the period of a year I came to know one of the trainers, Brandon McCombs. Throughout that year I watched him with his clients and even talked to his past clients, before making the plunge and signing up for 24 sessions. When I finally made the commitment I was ecstatic, thinking I would handle myself pretty well and pick up a few tricks along the way. Little did I know Brandon’s vast knowledge would not only change my body, but my life in its entirety. I have recently finished my 24 sessions; it has been not only the greatest experience, but the greatest investment imaginable. I have learned so much in so many different areas of being healthy and living fit. From increasing my mobility, strength, and endurance, to being able to cook and eat better and understand why I am eating it, to finally being able to look in the mirror and be proud of what I see. Most people think women are the only ones who suffer from insecurities, however in this day and age with movies like “Magic Mike” and tabloids of shirtless celebrities it is hard for a guy to feel confident. Thanks to Brandon McCombs I am proud to look in the mirror, proud of the fact I have pushed myself harder in the gym than I ever have before, but mostly, I am honored and privileged to have been able to become a client of Brandon’s. I just signed up for 24 more sessions, and am stoked to watch my body transform even more and unleash my inner beast. To the person reading this, whether you are waiting for your first fitness assessment, or deciding whether to take the plunge as I did; remember that progress always begins where your comfort zone ends.

I have worked out all my life. I thought I knew what I was doing since high school when working out to accomplish the physical fitness goals I had set for myself. It turns out that I did not know as much as I thought. In fact, since working with my trainer, Brandon McCombs, I have discovered how little I knew about proper workout techniques. Working with Brandon has helped me accomplish physical fitness goals I did not think were possible at my age. I am doing things now with my body that I have not done since high school – like the toes to the bar routine and burpees! I am no spring chicken but during my last fitness assessment I warmed up on the incline bench press with 10 reps of 180 pounds, I then did four reps of 242 pounds, and finished with one rep of 292 pounds. I never lifted that amount of weight when I was a dedicated weightlifter and those results did not come from weightlifting. The results have come from doing high intensity old school exercise like pushups, sit-ups, pull-ups, squats, and more under the watchful eye and encouragement of my trainer, Brandon. I highly recommend other Snap Fitness members work out with a trainer; you will be amazed at the results. I am!
    Sincerely,

I got started coaching over 12 years ago handing out towels at a local gym while I was in college. Durning my sophmore year I asked the owner if I could try my hand at personal training!

I have worked with high school sports athletes, foreign exchange students, and several other college students!

Be sure to shop around and find the right coach for you and don't be afraid to ask questions no matter how silly you think they sound!

Students need to ask themselves why they want to do what it is they wany to do. May it be gaining or losing weight, "What would happen if I gained 20lbs or lost 20lbs?"
