Yoga is a healing modality. Through yoga you can heal your nervous system, circulation, digestion, organs, mind, and emotions. Through yoga, you can develop your health and energy to be able to live a life that fills you with joy. Yoga is not a cure-all. Yoga doesn't eradicate suffering, but it is one of the most effective, scientific tools for well-being.
My specialty is teaching yoga as a tool for healing. My focus is alignment and energy based. My clients regularly say that they feel increased energy levels, better digestion, deeper sleep, and a calmer mind.
Amanda is quite good at designing specific goals for me that address my needs. She is flexible in what we do and helps me grasp the foundation principles rather than just teaching me “positions”.... I love what we are doing so I share her name with others!
First, we build trust. I work to understand your needs, your body, and your mind. You work to open your mind and heart to the often scary process of change.
From there, it depends on the student.
I ask my students to be willing to do homework. Yoga does not really have an effect unless you are willing to practice at home.
