About
Our main competitive advantage is our focus on teaching classical music while developing independent learning and critical thinking skills that not only result in higher scholastic achievement, but can also be applied to all areas of life.
Teaching private lessons has given me the benefit of developing a more personal relationship with all of my students.
The most rewarding aspect of being a music educator is watching my students develop into more independent musicians as they play their music with more ease and enthusiasm. That's when I know my work has truly paid off.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All prospective students have the option of scheduling a consultation so that further rapport is established, all questions are answered and expectations are clearly defined.
All new students are required to complete a new student questionnaire during the registration process. It's purpose is to provide insight into the client's musical interests, goals and primary reasons for deciding to study the piano.
In addition, new students are provided a list of music lesson materials that will be needed as well as login information to Music Teachers Helper where they can access homework assignments and monitor their progress.
For added convenience, they are also given a comprehensive practice checklist to be used as a reference during practice sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught private music lessons at The Metairie School of Music, The Ellis Marsalis Music Center and the Loyola Preparatory Arts Program.
During my undergraduate studies at the University of New Orleans, I completed a Piano Pedagogy course and have since applied the concepts and principles into my own teaching.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching privately during my undergraduate studies as a music studies major at the University of New Orleans in the year 2007. It was there that I began my professional development as a piano instructor while taking private lessons myself.
I made it my goal to have a more diversified music career that didn't just include piano performance. I thought it necessary to share my musical knowledge and expertise with others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and diverse musical backgrounds. The majority of the students I have taught are beginners although I do teach early to late intermediate levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always remember to respect the teacher's time by coming to lessons fully prepared.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Before tallking to a teacher about your needs, please remember to find out about their teaching philosophy. Other questions to consider are how lessons are structured and what will be expected of you as a student.
