About

Nicholas Pelletier began his viola studies at the age of twelve in his native town of Duluth, Georgia, and is currently an undergraduate student at the New England Conservatory. Throughout his career, he has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, the Royal Concertgebouw, the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing, and Smetana Hall. He has spent summers at the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Brevard Music Center, the Sarasota Music Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. An avid orchestral player, Nicholas was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the USA for two consecutive summers for their Chinese and European tours where he played under conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Christoph Eschenbach, and Charles Dutoit. Through such experiences, he has become a strong believer in the power of music to transcend boundaries of language and culture. In an effort to pass on his love for music, Nicholas is also a teaching fellow through the Community Performances and Partnerships program at the New England Conservatory where he teaches at El Sistema programs at elementary schools in the Boston area. His principal teachers include Marcus Thompson and Paul Murphy.
