Not only am I a teacher, but I am also a professional songwriter and performer. This means I can give real-world advice to performers who want to get out there and share their voice with the world.
I am also trained in nervous system health for performers so I can help students with stage fright, trauma, and anxiety in a skillful way.
Finally, I am a trained theatrical actress, so I also encourage my students to stay connected to their material to great not only good sounding songs but compelling performances.
I am LBGTQ friendly and accept all students as they are!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
EVERY student is different. My process with a new student is to really listen to what their specific needs are. I do not like to begin with a student until I completely understand their goals, intentions, and preferences. My goal is to make every student feel comfortable and excited to learn about their voice and body in performance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained vocally in Opera at The New England Conservatory and Jazz at Berklee College of Music. I also have a BFA from Emerson College in Acting. I am a long-time theatrical and musical artist. I have 2 full-length albums and have performed 3 one-woman shows not to mention countless plays and productions.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching voice because I was interested in empowering female voices and an intense passion for nervous system health for performers. I believe that singing is healing and can be the greatest gift and joy in a person's life! It has been a blast ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with EVERY kind of student. From 5-70 years old to beginner to professional performer. I have worked with trans women on shifting their voices, inner-city girls with no access to voice education, incarcerated girls, to very privileged populations as well. I love ALL kids of student and I am grateful and challenged by them.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Really, students should feel good and excited about their teacher. Students don't always know what they want when coming in and that is ok! That said, they should feel like when they speak their preferences they are heard and respected.
