Hello music lover! My name is Anaís and I have a degree in Music Composition and Theory with a concentration in piano from Boston University. I also studied voice at Whole Tone Music Academy with Nora Maynard. I have been teaching songwriting and group voice for over a year at the Hyde Square Task Force in Jamaica Plain and have been freelancing compositions for chamber ensembles and arranging for orchestra and string quartet. We have students of all ages, levels, and genres and customize the approach to each student's individual needs. We offer a few performance opportunites. We have a monthly Performance Workshop designed to practice performing for your peers, working with nerves, and stage presence. Three times a year we have public recitals to which you can invite family and friends to see you perform! Periodically throughout the year we have other workshops, such as a duets and scenes workshop in which to practice singing with others. I teach beginning piano and voice lessons, with a focus on having fun while building a strong foundation of musicianship. In our lessons, we will learn the basics of music theory, notation, and rhythm, and then apply it to the keyboard or the voice. As we progress, you will learn technique and musicality to compliment your musicianship. I look forward to embarking on a musical journey together! My favorite thing about teaching is finding what works for each individual student. I love to help students solve the puzzle to unlock their learning, so that they can make progress and have the most rewarding experience possible....
