Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is to study a student's current singing ability to determine areas of opportunity. We will polish and refine what the student identifies as their stronger vocal abilities. I will help the student identify their unique singing style so that they can grow within their vocal sound and develop confidence. Together we will uncover areas of the student's voice that they have not used to help expand their vocal ability. I will also help the student develop their stage performance skills and help prepare for vocal competitions and singing auditions they have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My experience includes over 25+ years in music including singing, playing piano, directing choirs, vocal training, winner over 20+ vocal competitions, mastering vocal auditions, and being an accomplished recording artist and music performer.
Bachelors of Arts Degree in Vocal Performance and Piano from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA

How did you get started teaching?
I started with teaching choirs at the age of 14 years old at a church and throughout high school as she founder and director of the Amherst Regional High School Gospel Choir . While studying music in college I taught collegiate choirs and worked with vocalists to improve their singing abilities.
Since 2006 I have worked with vocalists who have wanted private training.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students between the ages of 11 to 21. These students have been beginners and some have been a little more advanced than others, but both lack the proper vocal training and techniques to perfect their singing.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am very proud of performing the National Anthem for Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Finals in Boston!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure that you want to develop your singing because it will take serious dedication and commitment to work with me as your teacher. This is not an overnight process. It is all about growth and crafting your unique sound. Be available to receive constructive coaching when you might feel you're good at singing. Be realistic in your expectations regarding vocal lessons. It is going to be a journey to become the voice and performer you desire.
