I specialize in functional movement, lay down a firm groundwork for new students, have been specializing in guiding late middle age and older populations and people with movement and neurological difficulty. I have extensive training and experience in those areas with the addition of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. 

I love to see people finding new joy in movement, refresh and renew with every class or lesson and move better, live better as a result. Seeing someone become pain free and look and feel younger is a joy to see every single time.

    I had the pleasure of attending ZsuZsa's yoga classes - and she has set the bar very high for instructors. ZsuZsa is extremely tuned into each of her students and can tell quickly whether or not someone needs a modification for a pose. She is very attentive to every student and ensures everyone receives individual attention through out the class. With ZsuZsa's guidance and instruction I was able to perform poses I didn't believe I would be able to and I left class each week feeling a great sense of accomplishment.

    "After a fall and sprained ankle I was diagnosed with Piriformus syndrome; one of those conditions that causes a lot of lower back and leg pain with amorphous recommendations for treatment. I was in near constant pain with very limited mobility. I was unable to walk (and that was very slowly) for more than 30 minutes at a time; bend much at all, nor stand for any length of time. My PCP suggested a series of exercises which I did but the pain continued. Since I was not willing to consider surgery (which had very little assurance of actually relieving the pain) and had had great success with Feldendrais therapy for a previous back injury, I decided to seek out a Feldenkrais therapist. I was fortunate to locate Zsuzsa Kovacs via the Feldenkrais website (http://www.feldenkrais.com). I started one hour therapy sessions in April and had weekly and sometimes twice-weekly sessions through September. At first I noticed a cessation of pain and increased mobility after each session though the pain would return after some hours. Zsuzsa cautioned that it would take a long time for my body to un-learn the posture and gait habits that it had used to compensate for my injuries. This indeed proved to be the case. I kept at the exercises that she gave me to do between appointments and actually took two 3 week breaks between sessions. Bit by bit the periods of no pain and increased mobility increased from hours to days. I now find that the back pain is totally gone and the leg pain nearly so. While it takes work on my part to do the exercises every day; I can clearly see that the effort has and continues to pay off. I would highly recommend Feldenkrais with Zsuzsa who is clearly a practitioner skilled at assessing muscular skeletal problems and correcting them. Yes, it takes time to do the assigned exercises and keep up the therapy sessions but to me it is well worth it."

    My stress went Way Down! I loved my first yoga session with Zsuzsa because she made it easy. She is caring, gentle, explains the positions well. Through her instruction I was able to be present in my body and the stress went way down. I felt muscles and body postures I hadn't known about. She accommodated tightness in my knees from an old auto accident. I highly recommend Zsuzsa as I've had other yoga class where the instructor pushed the positions without accommodations. The difference is pain or Enjoyment, and I choose enjoyment :-)

- taught over 3,000 hours of yoga;

- took several advanced training in kinesiology, pain management, healthy aging, anatomy and physiology;

- studied with several luminaries, including Patricia Walden, renown Iyengar teacher, Karin Stephan, Dan Leven and others;

- GCFP(R) - Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner - 860 hour training, through the New York Institute of Feldenkrais;

- took several advanced training, amounting to another 500 hours of study.
