I was a complete beginner two years ago when I started painting with Michael. Although he was not excited about my novice status on day one, he patiently demonstrated the basics and taught me to keep going back to these simple principles. He encourages with a great sense of humor and gives students enough time to work on our own while always being available for advice. While I tend to like traditional approaches I truly appreciate Michael’s belief that “there is no wrong way.” My painting has come a long way in this short time period and has become a treasured part of my life. I have become a member of the Wellesley Society of Artists and have been participating in shows. I have even received Honorable Mention for a painting I exhibited at the Wellesley Library.

Jason was a wonderful teacher who took a hollistic approach to presenting his ideas and techniques about drawing and painting. His classroom sessions were very open, and he consistently challenged me throughout the semester, piquing my interest in drawing and the fine arts.
