My teaching philosophy is built around two phrases from my late mentor, Lindsey Christiansen: "A good voice teacher teaches you how to practice." "Good singing is simple and easy, learning to make it so is the hard part." My goal as a voice teacher is to give my students the vocal and musical tools they need to tell their own stories through singing. I believe that any voice teacher plays a vital role in shaping the narrative that students play in their mind while singing, practicing, even living day to day. That’s why I firmly believe in modeling positive self-talk as often as possible, so that my students learn to become their own chee
