Baseball is a mental game and for that matter your mental health plays a part in everything we do. Mental Health and sports are what I specialize in. I have a very exstensive background when it comes to both. My name is Jason Richards. I am a former college baseball player and I have a degree in Health Education. Baseball is my specialty but I do work with other athletes in other sports. I was very sucsessful in college playing baseball. I also can help on the mental health side when it comes to confidence in the game.

Hello, thanks for checking in. I have 30 years experience playing baseball as a catcher. Started in Bayamon, PR as a seven years old. Right after I graduated from high school I went to Santo Domingo, DR for a year in order to train and learn more skills about catching and baseball. I was under the wing of a scout from the Minnesota Twins and trained by professionals baseball players. After that I moved to Holyoke, Massachusetts and played division 3. Now that you know where I'm coming from let me help you get better at what we love, baseball.

I have many years of College and Professional experience, have learned from the best to get to where I’m at in skill. I didn’t grow up being the biggest so I had to perfect my craft in hitting and field to make it to the next level as I was always over looked based on sized and where I was born. Talent speaks louder then word and where you came from. Work with me and I’ll get you better no doubt!

My love for the game started at age 5. I have many years of experience in both playing and coaching baseball. I played 4 years of baseball for Johnston High School (pitcher, third, outfield). Along with being a student athlete at Johnston High I played AAU, Legion and Connie Mack baseball. I also played in a Rhode Island independent league. After many years of playing, my coaching career began. I've coached baseball for the Rhode Island Reds (2 years), Scituate Middle School (2 years) and currently coaching at Bishop Hendricken Middle School. In recent years I have led teams to championships including Johnston JR/SR league and my most recent

Welcome! My first year in business…everyone has to start somewhere! But I have been around the game of softball and baseball sence I could pick up a ball. I played baseball through High School some College. Then played softball for 15 years after in different leagues. Then ran the North Brookfield softball league for 6 years and coached my team to 2 championships. Fast forward now I have 3 girls 2 that play softball. My youngest 8 has 2 Burkett championships. My oldest has a D4 and Mass State championship for Burkett and will be playing for one again this season as catcher. She is in her 3rd year of travel ball. All we do is hit and train.

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.
