Choo Smith Youth Empowerment (CSYE) is the real deal. Our son came to AAU basketball relatively late (as a rising sophomore) because I had heard not very good things about AAU basketball programs in general. My wife and I conducted a very rigerous search of programs and are delighted to have discovered CYSE. CSYE addresses the whole child in a profoundly holistic and deeply meaningful way. CYSE is not just about basketball but about life writ large. Our son has not only benefited greatly from his exceptionally positive interactions with CYSE coaches but, just as importantly, from his great team members and their parents. CYSE has been one of the best things we have ever done for our son. Thank you CYSE.

My son is learning excellent basketball skills as well as wonderful life lessons that will stay with him throughout his life. Choo holds him accountable and mirrors the same discipline taught at home. I am so thankful that we were introduced to this great organization.

Though my son had not been playing long at the time, Choo was the FIRST Coach to offer “what he could do for my son” vs other coaches always starting with what my son could do for them (their team. We started training twice a week when he was 12 in order to develop his ball handling skills. At the time he was considered a “big man” being about 5’ tall at age 10. That was just the beginning of his height and his development. He has surpassed the foundational skills of many of his peers and has gained confidence on the court. He has been able to develop off the court as well. He has been become a part of the travel organization And the experiences “on the road” are unmatched. If you need an organization based on principles, morals and learning the value of an ethical game... than this is the place for you! ❤️🏀💙
