About

Hello, my name is Leslye. I have just retired from owning a yarn shop for 19 years that also sold Brother sewing machines for the last 4 years of the business. I also have taught hand and machine knitting techniques, sweater designing, sweater finishing, and other knitting techniques for national seminars around the U.S., (Vogue Knitting Live, Stitches, Pittsburgh Knitting and Crochet show) and have a number of instructional DVD’s on knitting, but want to stop traveling for a while.

I have always loved to sew and have sewn clothes that fill my closets. As a result of my passion, at my store, we offered sewing lessons. I began offering Brother sewing machines because of my extensive knowledge of sewing. We were very successful, but it was time to retire. After closing the store, I am now enjoying being home and my new freedom and a new (friendly and non-sheding) puppy. I realized that I can continue to individually help those who want to learn how to sew. You'll take advantage of how I have expanded my knowledge beyond just following sewing patterns by taking various advanced sewing classes. Everything from simple sewing projects such as skirts, pants, shirts/blouses, regular and wedding dresses to lined suits is here for you to see. I also have a knowledge of making lined curtains, balloon shades, decorative throw pillows with hidden zippers and more.

I will help you learn how to confidently sew using a commercial sewing pattern. I have tips and tricks not commonly found in the sewing directions. Learn here in my home studio in Owings Mills where I have a large cutting board, sewing machines, embroidery machines, sergers, pressing equipment and more. I have an entire curriculum to learn from the beginning and beyond, and want to help you tackle the project of your choice starting with beginner patterns to advanced. We will decipher your particular sewing machine and learn the functions of many stitches.

Sewing is a very powerfull skill. To be able to make and use what you dream up gives you a great feeling of accomplisment and pride.

Call me for any questions.

I love sharing the knowledge of sewing. There is something about working a sewing machine that is fun as well. The thrill comes when that zipper goes up or the buttons go through and what you made fits and looks store-bought!!!

But... what if something goes wrong. That's a good thing, too. We all learn from those great mistakes and try to not do them again. Consequences are great teachers.
