Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Hi,
Thanks for choosing me as a possible Personal Trainer. I love meeting new clients!
First, I want to make sure we all are on same page when headed toward your health and fitness goals. It’s always good to get to know my clients.
Our first session is a practical session. We will be exercising as we get to know each other. Nothing to crazy, but detailed enough to find and areas that may require a little more attention.
You will have homework!!🤷♀️🤗
Bring a good attitude, and a little bit of patience. We are on this journey together. ❤️
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
NNNn I’ve been a certified trainer for over 10 years. With experience in several different professional establishments, as well as, personalities.
I’ve found the best practical way to educate myself is to apply the knowledge to my own fitness.
Everything is practical, but, not everything is applicable. We all come in different shapes and sizes.
Let’s find out what will work for you! 💪
How did you get started teaching?
To be perfectly honest. A picture!!
I saw a picture that my mind didn’t recognize my body! 🤷♀️
I had to change that!
I lost 24 lbs in 8 weeks. But nothing short of changing my habits. Change your thinking, change your life! From that point on people wanted to know how I achieved my results. Just said, don’t give up until you get there! :)
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Athletes to the Active Adults. The philosophy doesn’t change, just the intensity.
My favorites students are the ones that make an effort to be different.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Had recently a personal growth seminar where I was asked to get everyone (40 people) to engage in a 3:00 exercise drill called a plank. Most people we out of shape.
Everyone succeeded! Many dropped, but made the effort to get back in. That’s called success!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
With anything in life-“Consistent persistence of resistance will achieve resilience”-me and probably someone else out there. :)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How bad do I really want change in my life?
How many days are you willing to commit to?
Set reasonable-short terms goals and go after them! adjustments can be made among the way. Just don’t give up!
