My name is Barbara, and I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and teaching for 5 years throughout South Florida with amazing teachers and students. I now live in Charlotte NC and love it here!
I always tailor my classes to meet every clients needs. Whether you are looking for strengthening the body, increasing flexibility or decreasing stress, I have the skills and experience to facilitate a transformative class. It’s my goal that you feel comfortable in class!
When I started yoga, I was a full time college student with a lot on my plate. Yoga was the one thing that allowed me to stay present and midigate anxiety. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of yoga with people of all levels and ages.

I enjoy seeing those sparks of the ‘aha moments’ during yoga sessions. It doesn’t always come during or after the first practice.. but give it time and patience. There is so much to discover within when we let go and be ourselves.

My typical process for working with a new student is first of all, telling them about my experience and a little history about me. I like to talk about their yoga practice history and their goals and any injuries they may have so that I can prepare a customized class or program for them.
I have been practicing yoga, since 2007, and I recieved a 200hr Yoga certification from an international program called the School Yoga Institute in 2011. There, I learned both Vinyasa and Hatha yoga flows. I have also gone through additional programs, like Slow Flow Restorative training and Yoga for Athletes, and Thai Yoga Stretch/massage.
My pricing definitely varies. It depends on length of class time, driving (if there is any), space rental (if necessary, I do have space at my house if student feels comfortable), amount of students, and per class or Package rate. I'm willing to discuss this in further detail with individual students.
Yoga enhanced my life in so many ways as a student. When I was very busy in college, yoga was a way for me to slow down and breathe again. I was able to be more focused and energized in my day to day life. At first, the physical practice is what drew me in. As time went on, I learned there was a mental and spiritual component, too. I wanted to dive in deeper AND be able to share this knowledge to others. I was so inspired to learn more in my 200hr training.
I have worked with All types of students! From young kids, teenagers, adults and seniors of all levels. This is the amazing thing about Yoga. It's for Every BODY!
Know your goals and research different types of yoga. Try a few different teachers. It's okay if your first teacher doesn't resonate with you.
