About

People tell me I have a way of making learning easy and enjoyable. I enjoy seeing my students play what they didn't think they could! With a masters in Education, I make learning easy and pleasant. I've taught music to ages 3-90s and have a long list of ages in between! I teach to each person's individual style of learning and create a simple but progressive learning plan.

My career consists of teaching dulcimer, guitar, penny whistle, uke, mandolin and helping students understand what music works together so beautifully. Performing/giving workshops at music fests in several states has been one of the many highlights of my music career.

I love seeing the students truly enjoy playing the instrument they've always wanted to!

I appreciate how Sharon meets students at their skill level and tailors the lesson plans to them and their interests and abilities. I like how she doesnt just teach me songs, but helps me to understand how the dulcimer is laid out and how chording works, for example, so that I can own the music for myself and build from it. She is patient and she is creative with students of all ages from child to retirees.

Frequently asked questions

I like to find out where they want to go with music.  What kind of music do they want to play? I make sure and allow for questions/answers during lessons.  I always make sure they understand the points of the lessons and have a plan of action for practice.

My entire career has been teaching.  I've been told I make lessons easy, enjoyable, and reachable yet give a good balance of new skills to apply.
