About this pro

The knowledge and experience of our instruction staff is second to none.  We work with players of all ages from tee ball to college and professionals.  Since 2004 over three hundred players have received college scholarships and over thirty have made it to the professional ranks training at our academy.

We take pride in our philosophies and the ability to adapt core fundamentals to each player individually.  Our focus is on using ground forces and the kinetic chain to drive movement.  Once you learn to use your body correctly power and velocity will be unlocked!!

There are countless things we enjoy about our work, but two stand out the most.  One is the constant development and fine tuning of what we teach and how we apply it to players.  Our philosophy of ground forces and energy transfer has never changed, adapting that to all the different players is the fun part.

The most important thing we enjoy is having the opportunity and ability to positively impact kids.  The skills they learn will make them much better baseball and softball players, but helping them increase their confidence, enjoy the hard work and become a great teammate is the most rewarding part!!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Day one is an assessment of the skills, knowledge and ability of the player.  We introduce the core fundamentals we teach and how we expect them to develop in the coming weeks, months and years.  Then we get into specific movements and adjustments the player needs focus on first.  As time goes on we transition from basic to advanced and hopefully expert level movements.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I personally have directed our academy for 10 years, played at Albion College and Oakland University before moving onto a hitting coach job at a junior college.  After a year I focused solely on training at our academy.  I have helped hundreds of players go on to play at the collegiate level and many to the professional level as well.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

We do... lessons can be half hour, hour or however long you want.  Standard rates are $50 for a half hour session and $225 for a package of five half hours.  Rates go down as package size goes up.

How did you get started teaching?

I had the priviledge to work with some great coaches throughout my high school and college career and saw what large improvements could be made by training.  After learning concepts of weight transfer and hand movement I was driven to learn more about using your lower body, ground forces and transfering energy.  That lead me to teaching and learning from my students after I finished at Oakland.

What types of students have you worked with?

All types... tee ball players, community league players, travel players, college players and professionals

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Don't go to somebody that teaches "conventional wisdom" mechanics for hitting or pitching.  We have worked tirelessly to develop how we teach players to use the kinetic chain.  Just working on your hands and bat angles isn't enough.  Come see us for the best value and most improvement guaranteed!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How hard are you willing to work?  It won't be easy at first and may never be easy, but great improvements are made with consistent training.
