Claire Agresta Voice Lessons
About
I love teaching all aspects from church music to preparing pieces for college auditions. I have been teaching private voice lessons for about 2 years as well as tutored music theory and history to entry level college students. I also have 15 years of dance experience in ballet, jazz, musical theater and tap. This has allowed me to learn a different side of music and helps me draw aspects from this while teaching. I love watching a student learn and grow. My goal during teaching is for the student to feel confident and strong.
I have two degree's in Voice Performance as well as training in The Alexander technique, Music Theory, Piano and Music History. I also have a large background in choral works and dance experience.
I would love to hear from you and discuss if we would be a good fit for lessons. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe it is important to understand what a new student is interested in learning during lessons. When I meet with a student for the first time, I sit down with the student/parent and discuss what their goals are during these lessons. Some students want to have fun, others want to learn a piece for auditions or for a church choir they are a part of. Making sure the teacher and student are working on the same goal makes the lessons more efficient, fun and is more likely to guarentee a trusting relationship.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lesson price is $30/ half an hour and $50/hour. If traveling to a students house I add a $5 fee per lesson for gas prices.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from children to adults. i enjoy working with all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Choose a teacher who not only understands your goals for lessons but you also feel you can trust and are comfrotable with. When I was working on my degress, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of teachers. The teachers who I never completely felt at ease with, I ended up learning the least from because there was a wall between us. This wall stops any true progress from happening.
