My wife Mary Ann and I have been practicing and teaching Yoga & Meditation for over 45 years. We are disciples of Yogacharya J. Oliver Black who was one of Paramahansa Yogananda's most advanced disciples. Paramahansa Yogananda was a Yogi from India who came to America in 1920 and wrote the Autobiography of a Yogi. We teach both Yoga and Meditation in the classical way as brought from India to America, but in a way and language known to Americans. It is done in a universal way with scientific, philosophical, and religious support.
We are passionate about the teaching of Yoga & Meditation so as to pass on the benefits that we have received to our students. Life is meant to be lived fully, completely with enthusiasm and joy!! Meditation and Yoga creates those circumstances for you if you practice regularly in the correct way.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A personal interview either in person, by phone, email, or text, introducing myself and trying to evaluate their interest and needs. From that trying to establish a way to move forward Through one of the many group activities we offer or if necessary private instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have been practicing and teaching Yoga & Meditation for over 45 years. We were training by our Guru, Yogacharya J. Oliver Black (a close disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda) in the 1970's and 1980's primarily at Song of the Morning, a Yoga retreat founded by Yogacharya Oliver in Northern Michigan near Gaylord, MI. Our Yoga teachers training was through the Golden Lotus Yoga Teachers Association (GLYTA) also founded by Oliver in 1966. We are also trainers of new teachers both in Hatha Yoga and Meditation, Raja Yoga. We were ordained by Roy Eugene Davis in 2010 as ministers and authorized to initiate others into Kriya Yoga

No real standard. It varies depending on where we are teaching and what we are teaching.
