About

I have a method to teach how to understand the entire neck of the guitar or bass from the very first lesson. This is different from traditional methods that most teachers follow.

In doing so, students are setup to be able to learn on their own long after they stop taking lessons. I teach with the view, "I wish I had learned what I teach when I first started playing. Had I learned the instrument this way my abilities and progress would've grown much faster."

Since I've been teaching. My students consistently comment on how much they learn and how they've noticed their abilities improve.

I have a Bachelors from Gustavus Adophus College - St.Peter, MN.

Recording Engineering degree from Dick Grove School of Music - Van Nuys, CA.

I love to teach and help students realize success on their instrument.

From beginner to highly advanced
Experience and quality cannot be emphasized enough. Just because somebody is close to you doesn't make them the right choice for a teacher. I've had students travel from as far as Owatanna, New Ulm, even Albert Lea, Minnesota. Now with online lessons being much more available due to technology. I've taught lessons to students from all over the nation.
Why do you want to play guitar? Even if it's for something a basic as just being able to play simple songs well. If that's your goal? Focus on it and find a teacher help you acheive it. Learning isn't about just listening to your instructor. A good teacher talks. A great teacher listens and adapts to help you... So you can movel from where you're at to where you want to be.
