Coach Douge Schildgen worked with my grandson this spring to help him improve his batting skills. My grandson had participated in Little League for two seasons prior to meeting Douge, and because his hitting was inconsistent and he was striking out a fair amount of the time, his self-confidence had started to waver.
It took only a couple of lessons for us to see a big difference in my grandson’s form and to notice an assertiveness in his swing that he hadnt had before. Douge encouraged him to practice his stance in front of the mirror for a few minutes each day, and my grandson took Douge’s advice to heart. Practice indeed made a difference.
Douge currently coaches a high school baseball team, and he has gained a tremendous amount of experience from his many years of coaching. He exudes knowledge, is a highly skilled (and patient) instructor, and my grandson always looked forward to his lessons.
Douge is a delight to work with. He is reliable, committed to his craft, and his work, without a doubt, warrants at least a five-star rating. If youre going to interview several batting instructors, make sure that Douge is among them. Youll want your player to receive topnotch instruction, which is something youll get from Coach Douge.

We had Douge work with our son during the off-season and the results were amazing. Douge was able to correct his swing and improve his fielding by leaps and bounds. The difference in last seasons tryouts to this season was awesome! His performance and confidence improved SO much and he was able to make a higher team than he ever had previously. Douge was able to identify what our son needed to do to improve and encouraged him to work hard to reach his potential. Douge is worth every penny and we look forward to continuing to work with him each off season. Our son adored him and could not wait to go to his training sessions!

    Frequently asked questions

Have the student perform the baseball skill wanting to work on, giving me basic insight to the level of their performance of the skill and their current performance movement patterns.

Try to learn what the student wants to improve on in regards to the skill.

1st lesson is usually spent on the students basic "set up" in reference to that skill.

Walk student through a drill or 2 to give the student a "feel" for how I believe they should be performing versus how they are currently performing the skill.

I will video the players movement       1. To slow the movement down             2. To allow the student to see themselves performing                          3. For my use between what I physically see and what is really happening on the video                     4. Use to compare student movement to > old video of themselves, video of other clients, video of amateur players and video of professional players performing the skill

Find a coach that you can “vibe” with. Someone you can connect with, relate to and finally trust.
What do I want to get from a lesson from this coach? What are my goals & aspirations? How much am I willing to work outside of the time with my coach on the skills/drills that they work on me with in our lessons?
