My service stands out because you don’t have to pay top dollar to put and emphasis on 1 on 1 teaching. That’s my bread and butter. Being a certified personal trainer I bring more aspects into my lessons to further tap into my athletes talent and work ethic. You don't pay seperate for the personal trainer. I correlate the skill work and physical training together. I played varsity 3 of 4 years in High School. I have multiple Babe Ruth League state titles and played collegiality for 2 years after High school and was a win away from the college World Series. I know how good baseball is played and what it looks like. I break down the fundamental...

"Baseball is Life." In terms of resilience alone I have to agree with that quote. I offer a fun, affordable, safe clinic where young catchers can learn their position, further develop their skills, and grow into confident players. Present skill level isn't the issue--effort and attitude are. As long as a player wants to learn and brings the right gear, we're in business. Everything else they need as catchers is what I provide. Safety is paramount. I teach players to always wear all their protective gear and to understand why that matters. We spend focused time on arm care, hip mobility, warmups, and cooldowns that keep their developing

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Coach Douge's love of the game, knowledge and teaching philosophies are exceptional. My grandson is almost 10 and JUST started the game of baseball. Coach has a way of building his confidence & inspiring him as he is learning...blotting out that inner voice of insecurity. Coach is kind, patient and very skilled. We are so impressed & HIGHLY recommend Coach Douge. What a Blessing he is. HAPPY Grandma and HAPPY Grandson.. THANK YOU Coach!! Seriously no words..GRATEFUL!!

Tom created lessons to meet my son where is was and helped him improve in all areas. So much that his coaches mentioned that my son’s game was now on a higher level than the previous season. Selfishly I don’t want him to get too busy and he’s a great coach. I would highly recommend.
