I am absolutely thrilled with my experience! Nicked Ideas sis helping me learn to sew— something way outside of my comfort zone.

I think she was awesome. Even though I had an extra projected helped me. Even with my errors I never felt that could not correct the problem. She made feel like I could do the work. I have already scheduled more lessons.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

12 years in 4-H sewing and clothing creation

15 years creating quilts

5 years in Greater Kansas City Quilt Guild adding additional knowledge and skills

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?

I have been teaching and demonstrating skills since 4-H days. I also spent several years honing my skills as a corporate trainer and finding how to move and motivate people in that process.

What types of students have you worked with?

Beginners / some knowledge

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Be patient with yourself in the beginning. Set aside focused time.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

* What amount of time do you think the project should take then double it.
* Take time to get to know your machine and materials you are trying to use with it.
* Have some clear goals understand you have to build your skills to get there. If you have never touched a machine or worked with fabric, know that prom dresses or evening wear can happen eventually.
