About
I have taught private and group sewing lessons for design, pattern making, and clothing alterations. I have a passion for teaching these skills to others for gaining a new skillbase, and advancing careers, either online or in person.
I have been a professional seamstress for over 11 years. I have worked in bridal alterations and custom design for a local bridal designer. For 7 years I was a menswear tailor for Jos A Bank Clothier, as well as a bridal seamstress for The Gown Gallery. I am now a member of the alterations team at Nordstrom Oak Park.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First we will discuss what you want to learn. Then I will customize a lesson around that, and share the steps we will take to help you reach your goals. I will be flexible with setting up lessons in person or online.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20/hour for lessons. I am also open to discuss other arrangements for ongoing classes.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages of students, including children and adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I recommend that you have your own sewing machine before contacting a sewing teacher, unless you want their advice on what type of sewing machine to look for. If you need a machine and you are on a budget, I highly recommend buying a used machine online from Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Letgo App, etc.
