Dark Powder Arts

Welcome! I started drawing portraits in 5th grade, primarily using pencil because I appreciate the contrast of dark and light tones. Later on, I became skilled in using charcoal, which offers a different style that enhances the appearance of portraits. Since 2014, I have been teaching portrait drawing to students ranging from 10 years old to adults, focusing especially on beginners. I've taught at local community centers in Apex, NC, and Holly Springs, NC, as well as online through one-on-one sessions and group classes.

If you're new to drawing and want to learn how to create portraits, I can help make the process easy and enjoyable. Some of my students had such a great time that they decided to take my classes a second time.
