ECF provides some of the best training available in traditional Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts, and unique in-house fitness fusion classes Fitness Kickboxing and the Fit In 5 Workout. We have martial arts classes available for adults and for kids age 5 up.
ECF’s owner and head Muay Thai instructor is Kru James Armlin. The ECF teachers are knowledgeable and passionate about their students’ progression and achievements, and it shows every class. ECF is a comfortable and conducive training atmosphere for everyone to reach their goals, from professional competitors to newcomers and everything in between.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kru James Armlin is the owner and the head Muay Thai instructor at East Coast Fighter, a certified Muay Thai instructor in the Thai Boxing Association under Ajarn Chai Sirisute. He has trained and studied Muay Thai extensively in Thailand. Some of the notable camps that he has trained in are Fairtex, OneSongChai, Lanna Muay Thai, and Keawsamrit. Kru Armlin is a former Muay Thai fighter and now a professional trainer. He was also a Close Combat and Hand-to-Hand Combat instructor in the United States Marines. Kru Armlin is currently a Law Enforcement Officer with over fifteen years of experience.

What types of students have you worked with?
East Coast Fighter Martial Arts & Fitness was created and founded by Kru (instructor in Thai) James Armlin. Kru Armlin started offering instruction in Muay Thai in early 2008 in Mint Hill at a very small (500 Sq. Ft.) space, then moved into a larger (3000 Sq. Ft.) space near the Police and Fire Training Academy, which grew rapidly.
ECF is now located in the Southend area of uptown Charlotte, NC,
with a state of the art 8,000 Sq. Ft. facility, custom built with training amenities to help our members strive for their personal goals, be they fitness, self-actualization, competition, stress relief, or social bonding.
Our Academy has helped many men and women to develop into champions in life, as well as on the mats.

Research and research. Make sure the instructors you are hiring have the credentials is stated when you first select them.
