The son of two music teachers, I have been immersed in music, first violin, then piano, and finally trombone, since the age of 7. I fell in love with jazz, especially Dixieland, Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, through Miles Davis, JJ Johnson and beyond, when I was a teenager, but ultimately my main focus has been on Classical music for most of my career. The mission of The Classical Saxophone Project is to reignite the awareness of the traditional classical repertoire of the saxophone through live performances and recordings and to extend it through commissioning new music. CSP is also devoted to education, focusing on young artists by offering private instruction, lectures, and master classes.

I am a professional musician in New York City and have been teaching for nearly a decade. I have a masters degree from Manhattan School of Music in jazz performance, and have played at many storied venues including Smalls, Nublu, and The Hugh. I love to teach music of all kinds to students, and to me making sure students are excited about playing their instrument is far more important than any scale or technique I might teach them. I am passionate about my students and the joy of watching a student progress and the sense of accomplishment they display is what its all about!
