Ever since I was a little kid I admired classical piano, due to unfortunate turnover of circumstances I was unable to pursue my dreams and embark on this journey as a child. Eventually I tried to break into the world by self-learning practice, mostly by listening to music and copying without sight reading which I couldn’t do. Once I felt confident enough, I decided to apply for local teachers, I saw about dozens of teachers that shut doors right to my face saying it was far too late to get serious about music in the late puberty. Then I was recommended to Tazo’s studio by my friend. Although Tazo admired work I pulled off myself, he strongly believed as everyone else that it would mean nothing if I did not forget everything and start from scratch, unlike those old school teachers I’ve encountered who couldn’t see that the seed can only thrive nurtured not placed in a cast of shadows. Tazo gave me an actual plan, challenged me, worked with me diligently and in less than a year I could sight-read swiftly. After 3 years I’m performing not only Chopin which I admired, but also Rachmaninoff even Liszt. Tazo has unique and very down to earth approach that made me fall in love with music even more than I ever was. Undoubtedly inspiring performer himself, he has made hard techniques easy to grasp, and expression of music easy to understand for me. I highly recommend Tazo’s studio to anyone who wants to learn classical piano, and not just to learn but grow!

As a theory teacher, Patrick Kreeger possesses the exact teaching style the subject requires. Patience, availability for questions and dedication to my desire to learn best define my experience with Patrick. It was such dedication that also made him call me out when he didn’t think I was doing my best or was making careless mistakes. Perhaps this wouldn’t be that outstanding except that Patrick did all of this long distance; he was in Philadelphia and I was in Delaware. He was timely in mailing me assignments and tests, and even more so in grading and returning them. I learned more from him in the 2 years I studied with him than I did in my last year of theory in my undergrad at music school. If you have the opportunity to study with Patrick Kreeger, consider yourself lucky. You couldn’t find better quality teaching elsewhere.”

I am so glad we found Michelle of Take Note Lessons. We have a 5th grader and 8th grader who both actively enjoy piano lessons and are both progressing well. Michelle adapts her teaching style to fit students' personalities - we see this demonstrated weekly as our girls certainly have their individual quirks....and nothing seems to phase her! She's open and warm enough that they both feel they can talk to her and yet they quickly buckle down to work too. Strongly recommend!

Gail is an amazing vocal teacher! She has a wonderful voice and years of experience. With her instruction and advice, my voice has improved drastically. As someone who struggles performing in front of other people, I feel more comfortable singing after each session. Her constructive criticism has been helpful, kind, supportive, and pushes me to be better. She never gives up on her students, finding creative ways to overcome weaknesses. I had the privilege of studying piano with Margarita Zelenaia for several years before her move to New Jersey ended our lessons. She is a professional of the highest caliber, a gifted teacher, who encourages, explains, demonstrates, and guides the student to mastery across a wide musical repertoire. Margarita has the ability to teach students at all levels - from the beginner to the advanced level. Although I no longer enjoy her physical presence, I hear her words and see her notes, marked on the musical text, whenever I sit down at the piano. The hallmark of a master teacher is the ability to help the student develop strong piano technique, while simultaneously encouraging the student to appreciate what the music is trying to convey. Margarita Zelenaia has helped me to do both.
