What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Set up a meeting via phone or zoom and discuss the client's goals, objectives and aspirations. Devise a plan to accomplish said objectives in a safe yet timely manner.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
47 years in the Martial Arts with a Shihan 6th Degree Black Belt Ranking. Over 30 Years in Personal and Group Fitness!
How did you get started teaching?
I started Training in the Martial Arts in 1976. Part of the curriculum for achieving Black Belt status is Teaching. This is where I found the inspiration to impart knowledge to others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with Kids 8 and older to Adults 80! I have taught the Blind as well in Fitness and Martial Arts. We work with Virtual and VR Clients.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always do your research and find someone who you can relate too and feel comfortable with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Time and commitment are the keys to obtaining one's goals so make sure that you are committed to the time it will take to achieve them!
