I am a mom of five and a grandmother of two. I am an RN, personal trainer, nutritional counselor, yoga teacher and reiki master.
I focus on the body as a whole, that is the mind, body and heart.
I enjoy empowering the client and helping them realize the strength that they embody not only in body but in mind.
All of my services encompass this way of healing the body in order to achieve complete equilibrium in body, mind and heart.
I offer personal training and reiki sessions for women and private restorative and yin yoga for all.
Please keep in mind, the Restorative yoga I teach and practice is very calming and restorative, we integrate each asana or pose and bring down the nervous system, so that the body, mind and heart can heal. Yoga is not about losing weight or being able to touch your toes it can transform your way of thinking so you are more conscious in your decisions in every day life so in turn you will be able to "think" before eating something that may not be healthy for your body, think before saying something that may be hurtful to others or to yourself. The transformation goes way beyond the mat.
Yin yoga is a more meditative approach with a physical focus much deeper than Yang like practices. We are trying to access the deeper tissues such as the connective tissue and fascia and many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine). As one ages flexibility in the joints decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility, something that for many don’t seem to be too concerned about until they notice it is gone.
If you look at my pictures on my website, you can see the type of environment that you heal in. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s truly a personal experience whether we are personal training or having a yoga session together. I live in a cabin and both my yoga studio and gym were built with trees from outside making it a very healing environment.

A recent personal training client stands out, but many of my restorative yoga student "projects" stand out. The profound shift in the mental attitude for the absolute better in my personal training and yoga students are something that warms my heart with words I find hard to describe. I know this comes from training the body, mind and spirit and stressing the importance of awareness, the breath, and training and practicing yoga with complete presence of the here and now. All of this brings equilibrium in the body as a whole.
I am still working with Lenora, the owner of It's a New Dawn. She is absolutely phenomenal. She is highly professional, warm, caring and patient yet firm and motivational. She is extremely reliable and never disappoints. She works with me in a format of both strength training and yoga-based stretching. Over the course of my working with her, I developed a frozen shoulder, and she has consulted regularly with my orthopedist and been willing and able to incorporate specialized exercises in to our sessions that my doctor has recommended. Essentially, she is functioning as both a personal trainer as well as a physical therapist. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
When my wife told me she was going to practice reiki I was beyond skeptical, until one afternoon she performed reiki on my shoulder which had a nagging injury causing a dull constant pain. After a minute or so of placing her hands a few inches from my shoulder, sharp pains began to intensify and ran all the way down my back. I was amazed that my body was having this reaction without even being touched. A few minutes later, all of the pain left my shoulder including the original annoying constant ache. While the relief was not permanent, it made a believer out of me. I have since witnessed the sincere appreciation expressed by her clients as they leave her sessions, as well as her yoga practices. She's the real deal, and can best be described as "authentic" in all areas of her reiki, yoga and personal training practices.
Lenora makes sure to give very I individualized attention to all attendees and because of that I've been able to get the most benefit for me out of each class I've attended. I highly recommend her classes.
Lenora is one of the best yoga teachers in NY/NJ area. I have learned new poses/techniques and enjoyed each session immensely!
I assess each client and find out their goals and needs and go from there. If it is a match we work together on obtaining those goals.
