About

I train my athletes with a "student-first" mentality. As well as observing their gameplay tendencies, I encourage a mode of open communication with my athletes to ensure that I am helping them achieve their own personal goals in concert with the skills they'll need to take their game to the next level. I use my experience playing basketball at the collegiate and professional levels in numerous countries to inform my perspective about how students can understand the game better in order to dominate it.

I enjoy seeing the progression of my athletes. I like watching them adapt to new skills and drills that target areas of growth and I relish the teachable moments that arise out of those challenges. The best part about what I do is being able to see the skills that we practice translate over to competitive play.

My son loved his time at Blue Chip Basketball. He constantly talked about how amazing Coach G was with him. I can tell that Coach G was a very attentive and approachable coach. My son has always had a love for basketball, but his experience here has heightened even more.

Ive always admired the knowledge he was able to give upon me with him playing in high school in college and even professional he is always able to teach me something I don’t know as after every workout to the point where I made a list of it. Also the drills we do are very much game like none of the extra stuff straight to it. I’ve been working with G for almost 5 years and I’ve seen drastic improvement in all areas of my game.

    Frequently asked questions

My typical process involves an initial feeler session where I introduce the student to a few basic drills that will test their shooting, ball-handling and passing ability. These drills will also give me some insight as to what muscle groups the athlete needs to pay particular attention to in order to facilitate basketball movements. Next, I apply some game-situation drills in order to asses basketball IQ and tendencies. Based on this initial session, I draw up a workout routine that includes a high-intensity and student-specific warmup as well as an array of drills that will build some necessary skills and elevate the athlete's gameplay.

I have worked PGC Basketball camps across the country for 4 years as well as numerous skills camps throughout the southern region during my tenure as an undergraduate. I played high school basketball at Newark Academy where I scored 500 points in my senior season and earned all-state and all-county recognition in numerous sports. I played college basketball at the NCAA DIII level at Emory University, winning 82 games and two UAA championships. While at Emory, I started every game of my final two seasons and served as team captain. We earned 4 straight trips to the NCAA Tournament and reached the Sweet 16 on 2 occasions. I recently retired from professional basketball, having played in the U.K. and Australia as recently as 2020. I am currently on the men's basketball staff at Tulane University.

My standard rate is $50 per session.
