Runway The Real Way
About
I am Catherine Schuller and have worked in many capacities in the fashion industry....I teach sustainability too. I am a member of the Garment District Collective and will teach classes there and it is right in Garment District on West 38th Street and 5th Avenue. I have a teaching job at LIM College and am a member of the Fair Trade Coalition where we teach repair and renew and refurbish classes with our member, Custom Collaborative. I am quite skilled at teaching beginners and make the experience non threatening and will have you making garments in no time flat. It's a process and I cover pattern cutting, how to read sewing instructions, how to operate the simple functions on a sewing machine and assembling and sewing the final garment. We usually make a skirt or dress or something simple that can build instant confidence in one's ability to sew. I look forward to working together to have everyone becoming an expert beginning seamstress or seamster (yes that is a word!)
