About
Through my graduate school and teaching experiences, I have come to understand my values and practice as a teacher at a deeper level. I appreciate how important it is to have the training and knowledge needed to transform a classroom into a space where students can learn and grow with the support they need. Seeking to teach the whole child has also improved my ability to support students in appropriate social participation, behavior modification, and self-regulation in the various situations they find themselves in on a school day. I believe that part of my job is to ensure that, to the extent of my ability, every child that comes into my classroom is treated with respect and given every opportunity to succeed. I believe that each child is a valuable and intrinsic member of the classroom and brings something unique to the community. My goal is to combine my classroom experience and research-based knowledge with my compassion, enthusiasm, and drive to be a teacher who will strive to make a positive contribution to both the school and community.
