Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Beginning process is getting to know your why. Your what and your how. We will start small with some strength training techniques balance hand-eye coordination. Boxing has been a sport why the approved by people. And this is something we've grown up to love. Fighting is in our DNA. But as we all know overtime things change even boxing has changed. Some would think a boxer would always go out and keep their hands up but many times when a boxer went out there and didn't keep their hands up they didn't follow the way that tradition has taught them they end up bringing a different aspect to the sport a different fighting style technique and they become winners. It's time to fight while following the rules but making it your own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of my training incorporates balance neurological training with body movement techniques while incorporating speed flexibility and awareness at the same time. Truly in person you will see and feel and start to understand that inside of you there's greatness
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The standard pricing is $20 a session. Or $90 a month. There could be different pricing depending on the student's availability wants and needs and locations. If needed I am willing to travel further.
How did you get started teaching?
When I started teaching I didn't think or expect to teach in boxing. I just love the sport of boxing and martial arts so I would Train by myself at a park most of the time and people would see me and they come up to me and ask me hey are you a boxer? Or do you box? I've boxed in high school but I never went professional it's just something that I love. The fighting style of the human body using it as a tool it truly shows strength and is beautiful to me. So by me training in the park I would just not do boxing. People would see me training different techniques which normally boxes don't do. boxers always jump rope run around and do all these traditional things but sometimes as the years changed people change techniques change so you have to change we have to change. It's not always good following the same routine but its necessary however to learn the basics because with the basics and training as if you going to perfect them when it's not really attainable but training with the mindset that I have to do this because no one else will do this you will get better you will get stronger and hopefully you will . you will fail because it's needed. It keeps you humble. No one wants to lose but understand and that it happens
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with some students who practice martial arts sunroof practiced Capoeira gymnasts and parkourist as well. Yeah I used to do parkour with a couple of my friends in New York when I lived there at the time great experience good all-around training that is good for boxing as well certain things not all.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love mixed martial arts. That's why I'm shocked that some of my friends wanted me to help them do boxing they don't like kicking I don't know why they don't like elbows and knees but I'm grateful and thankful that they see me as someone who has some form of knowledge which is very unexpected but I I love to share you know what I've learned and it's a beautiful thing the sport of fighting.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
See if you can relate to the teacher. See if they are what you're looking for. Some like training with women some like training with men with younger or older. There are many different preferences just always be honest with yourself.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How can I get better? Should I learn this kind of technique or would this technique help me with this task that I'm doing now?
