I have been learning martial arts from them for 6 years. The adult program is great if you want to learn how to develop quickly as a martial artist (and I have years of other martial arts experience). Their kids program is awesome and I recently enrolled my son into it. The teacher, Justin, even specializes in helping kids with learning disabilities. I've seen him in action and he is truly amazing. Can't recommend it enough.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to train my students and find out their starting point.  Then slowy map out a game plan for your training so that you as the student know exactly where you are and where you will be going.  Its no good to be in training and not knowing where your training is going.  When you are with a teacher taking a private lessons, that teacher show have a game plan for you so that you know you are always improving.  Once this is achieved, the we will stick to the training changing it when we need to according to the student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have my bacholors degree in socal work and my masters degree in guidance counseling.  This has allowed me to devleop a core values and leadership program that i instill in my kids program.

This has also given me the ability to teach other students with ease.  With my background I am able to detect your learning style quickly then use it to your benift so that you are able to learn in a quick, and effeicent manner.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $65 dollars for an hour.

If we there is a group private with more then one person and you all want to do more then once a week training then we can work out an arragement.

How did you get started teaching?

I started training martial arts 15 years ago.  I have always worked with kids and as i began to develop my martial arts skills, my deisre to teach kids began to grow.  Once I began teaching kids, I then moved onto teaching adults.

I love what I do.  There is no better job then teaching martial arts to those who want to learn.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of students.

I have worked with adults, adults with disabliities, kids, kids with disabilities.  I have worked with studedents with physical disabilites such as Cerbral Palsy.  I have also worked with studens who have downs syndrome as well.

I am always looking for students to teach who want to learn.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I am always fond of times when my students who are working hard on a move or technique and one it connects in thier head and they get it.  That moment give me more joy then almost anything.  Seeing my students of various abilites and backgrounds become better then they were is absolutly priceless.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Always test out the teacher.  If he or she is good then chances are they will give you the first lesson for free.  They should do this, becasue its only fair to the both of you.  To really learn martial arts you need to have a conneciton with your student, and the student needs to have a connecion with the teacher.  Only then will real learning begin to occur.

Also as a student dont be afraid to ask for a free lesson to see if the teacher is right for you.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Always know what you want.  Be sure that you have an idea or a picture in your head of what you want to become or learn how to do.  Only then will you begin to find the teacher who can teach you what you want to know.

For example if you want to learn kung fu, or some kind of stlye that resembles to kung fu, then going to a teacher who only teaches karate is not what you want.

So try to be as clear as you can as the perosn who want to become through your martial arts training.
