Sara M. says, "Michelle is the piano teacher I wished for when I was a kid! Michelle is patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. One of the things my 7-year-old loves most about Michelle is that she lets her explore her musical creative side. Michelle has guided my daughter in composing her own music, tackling tough songs of her own choosing and in introducing instruments like the harmonica into her selections. Michelle is always upbeat and full of positive energy and as a result my daughter loves her music lessons." Read more

Paula U. says, "SD is a professional, versatile, and flexible voice teacher. She’s incredibly precise in her teaching approach—always knowing what areas I need to work on—but she does it in a way that’s never intimidating or overwhelming. What I really appreciate is how pressure-free and student-centered her method is. During my first few sessions, we did what she called a “tasting” phase, where I got to explore different genres to find what suits me best. That made the process feel both fun and personal. She also has a talent for simplifying complex musical concepts, which is a huge plus for someone like me with little to no background in music theory. Beyond the individual lessons, I even had the chance to meet fellow students and sing duets—something I didn’t expect but really enjoyed! Her teaching style is truly one-of-a-kind: relaxed, engaging, and yet super effective. I've seen real improvement in my singing, and I always look forward to the next lesson. Highly recommended! 🤩👍" Read more

Joanna P. says, "I came to Gayle looking to get back into singing after years of taking a break. I am 27 years old and thought it may be too late to pick this passion back up but Gayle helped me find my love for music again. She taught me how to present myself and show an audience how to connect with a song in a way I hadn't before. She's truly great at what she does and she will get you to where you need to be. If you practice her advice and lean into her direction, you will have a successful go at whatever you try to achieve from singing lessons. I will recommend her 10x over. Great teacher and friend!" Marianne P. says, "After years of studying classical voice and still having technical difficulty, an accomplished singer suggested I study with Christine Moore, who is now teaching me to sing more fully and freely. While former voice teachers were well intentioned, professional, had good reputations, and taught me vocal concepts for over 35 years in weekly lessons, I continued to struggle with the passaggio and lowering my larynx in the higher range. Christine immediately understood my vocal issues and, most importantly, within a very short period of time was able to teach me techniques that have dramatically improved my vocal production. My husband and I are amazed at how much my voice has improved since I started studying with Christine only one and a half years ago. One important concept that Christine introduced me to that previous voice teachers didn’t explain is how to sing with proper vocal cord closure. Apparently, I was over-blowing breath through my vocal cords and wondering why I never had enough breath to sing a substantial aria. Christine also taught me the concept of “appoggio” (breath support) and I’m finally feeling a stronger foundation of lower body breath support that gives me the freedom to release my shoulders, head, and jaw to sing freely. Improved cord closure and breath control is helping me to produce a much larger voice than I ever thought I had. In fact, prior to learning these concepts I thought I was a mezzo-soprano and it is now very clear that I have a fairly large soprano voice. What I have learned about Christine is that she takes her work very seriously and expects her students to do the same. She has never canceled a lesson, chooses challenging and appropriate repertoire, arranges student recitals, teaches summer workshops in Italy, continues to sing professionally herself, and encourages her students to set goals and to perform. Additionally, she is a genuinely nice person, not the prima donna type you might expect of someone with so much talent and experience as a performer and a teacher. Honestly, I’m not someone that enjoys writing (I’d rather sing) but I wrote this review about Christine Moore because she really made a difference in my singing. I can only imagine how my voice would have developed if I had started training with a voice teacher like Christine earlier in my life. Maybe someone reading this will find out!" Read more

I am so glad we found Michelle of Take Note Lessons. We have a 5th grader and 8th grader who both actively enjoy piano lessons and are both progressing well. Michelle adapts her teaching style to fit students' personalities - we see this demonstrated weekly as our girls certainly have their individual quirks....and nothing seems to phase her! She's open and warm enough that they both feel they can talk to her and yet they quickly buckle down to work too. Strongly recommend!

All the lessons were well taught with high confidence and understanding. Jenna is a great singer and that shows in her lessons, and that is really inspiring. On top of that she is one of the nicest people you'll meet and it really makes it easy to be vulnerable so that all your little problems can be addressed.

Working with SD is like unlocking the full potential of your voice as an instrument. She has a huge toolkit of physical and technical exercises that really connect the voice to the body, which makes the work feel grounded and empowering. What I love most is how versatile she is. She can coach across any genre, so it’s exciting to switch things up while still using the same core techniques, just adapted. Every session feels like a blend of craft and play.

Working with Gayle has been nothing but the absolute best! Not only have I gained such a talented vocal coach, but a genuine friend and person to look forward to weekly. Gayle has gone out of her way to not only help me vocally but get to know me personally and touch other areas of my life. I've been so fortunate to get a chance to work with her, I've seen so much improvement in such a little amount of time. My experience with her has been nothing short of amazing, her attentive ear and teaching skills have helped me step up my game and built my confidence over these past few months. She is an amazing vocal coach :)

He's a great teacher: encouraging, but also knows when and how to critique and not discourage a beginner. Makes sure it is challenging, but not overwhelming. Encyclopedic knowledge of jazz and music theory. Definitely recommend!

I highly recommend voice teacher Christine Moore to anyone who desires to have more power and control of their voice and singing. She has fine-tuned knowledge of vocal mechanics and most importantly, she knows how to share that information with her students in a focused and caring way. She is deeply interested in her students' process and progress, and is also very skilled at tailoring lessons to her students' particular musical goals. As someone who performs regularly in a jazz/experimental/rock setting, I have gained tremendously from working with Christine. Lessons consist of both classical vocal training and addressing the specific skills needed for non-classical singing. The work has been not just beneficial but crucial towards developing stamina and a healthy voice that I can count on in performance.
