I am a retired NYC public school music teacher, with 35 years experience. I teach all ages and abilities. I specialize in prepping students for auditions to Magnet schools, NYC Arts high schools and college auditions. Music lessons are held in my studio on Saturdays in the Ft. The son of two music teachers, I have been immersed in music, first violin, then piano, and finally trombone, since the age of 7. I fell in love with jazz, especially Dixieland, Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, through Miles Davis, JJ Johnson and beyond, when I was a teenager, but ultimately my main focus has been on Classical music for most of my career. Hi, I'm Joshua Pantoja, Horn Professor at the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory and Horn Player for the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. I focus on the basic techniques of the Horn, a healthy sound, flexibility, the difference ranges, Etudes, Excerpts and Concertos also I work on Jazz and Improvisation on the Horn. I enjoy inspiring the students, finding their own sound, developing their creativity and to see their improvement from one lesson to the next.

After teaching in different countries and continents, I've come to the realization that the willingness of students towards learning a new instrument is universal, and that work and dedication can actually go hand in hand with excitement and passion.
