How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring in college when I noticed students were struggling to ace their subject matter, standardized tests, and college applications. I continued this momentum throughout my graduate classes in education at Harvard University. That's when I started applying my knowledge to help students become the best candidates possible. Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am fond of was helping a client prepare for her SAT under a tight deadline. Within a span of two weeks, I helped identify her areas of weakness and provided strategies that quickly helped address her learning gaps. As a result of daily, intensive tutoring, her score improved by over 120 points!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If customers are looking to hire a provider in the area of college and SAT/ACT preparation, they should ask what certificates and formal work experience they have. I am honored to be a certified Princeton Review standardized test instructor and have served as a Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Officer. I frequently draw upon this work experience throughout my sessions with clients.
