About

Our goal is to make lessons fun, rewarding, and sure to have you excited for the next one! With over ten years of experience, my wife and I have taught hundreds of students ages 4 to 84 and just about every age in-between. Let’s meet and chat about your music goals!

At Elbrook Music Studio, students get one-on-one individualized instruction based on their specific needs. A well rounded music education is our first priority with an emphasis on piano or voice, but our main goal is for the student to enjoy the journey! Young children get “brain breaks” where we play exciting music learning games. Teens and adult students will play songs they know and love to keep them motivated.

Emily was a wonderful teacher! I, as the student enjoyed working with her with my piano and vocal. She is very friendly and helps me till my piece is perfect. I always have a great time with her even when I am learning new things in both subjects. If a person wants to know which piano or vocal teacher to pick, I would absolutely tell them to choose Emily.

I doubt if a parents could write a more effective review than the student himself. All I can say is Thank you Emily for getting Jaithra started on his musical journey. We will miss you.

We’ve been so happy with Elbrook Music Studio! Emily is great with my kids—7yrs and 5 yrs—and I’m amazed at how well she adapts her teaching to each of their very different levels, personalities, and learning styles. And I really appreciate that she is flexible with our hectic and changing schedule. We love that the kids have multiple opportunities to show off what they’re learning at the recitals they put on through the year, and Emily makes sure to really make them fun (we especially loved the Halloween costume recital!). It can be difficult to find studios who work with kids this young, but I can see my kids growing in so much more than musical ability and we’re glad to have found a studio that believes in teaching little ones the values of music education.

Ms Wynn is a very fun and patient piano teacher. We are so glad she is our sons music teacher. He cherishes the time they spend in lessons and she makes learning music fun, even though he is only five years old. He is a bit shy but with her support even performed at her fall recital in front of a room full of families. I highly recommend her for even the most nervous/ shy kids!

    Frequently asked questions

My first step is getting to know the student. Have they studied an instrument before? What are their goals? I have a wide variety of teaching materials, so the first few lessons include finding the right method that fits for that individual.

That information can be found above in my bio, but here is a few more tid bits. While I have taught for close to ten years now, I have also taught lessons in German. I also value my experiences throughout my education degree and teaching in the school system.

Throughout my formal education, it was my goal to become the most well-rounded musician and educator as possible. For me, that meant getting into a nationally ranked conservatory in the US. For my masters, that meant traveling overseas to experience music in a different culture and growing in ways I could have never achieved in the comfort of my home. My fees reflect this extensive educational background.

I’ve been playing piano/clarinet for over twenty years and always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I started teaching piano in college while earning my degree in music education.

I’ve taught just about every kind you can find and that’s what I love about my job. Everyone can benefit from the joy of music.

All my students are important and special in my studio! I find it wonderful when I can provide music to the life of someone who learns differently than others. Right now I have two blind students and several students who are on the autism spectrum. We work together to find the best learning path for them - just like all my students!

I believe all teachers should offer a free trial lesson to make sure the teacher is right for the student. I also think the right credentials, personality, and patience are key. Learning how to play an instrument is way more than music - it’s learning how to become a well rounded, happy person!

It’s important to know learning to read music is similar to learning a language. I try to make lessons as fast-paced and enjoyable as possible, but we will encounter obstacles. Learning to overcome those “walls” through a positive environment are life lessons that span far beyond the piano bench.
