Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If you are new to Fletcher Pilates® I recommend that you start with one of our packages of private lessons. Here, you will work one on one with Patricia where you can address your personal physical and wellness goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Patricia LaRosa’s Pilates journey began with a Pilates Teaching Certification from Pendleton Pilates in 2004 and has, most recently, received the title of Qualified Fletcher Pilates® Teacher. Her Level II certification with the TRFPOS (The Ron Fletcher Program of Study) required 2,000+ hours of education including intense physical training, written, performance, and teaching examinations, case studies, and a continuous education in anatomy and physiology.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
4 class package: $60 - $220
8 class package: $120 - $440
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching by taking a Pilates class at the YMCA in Ft. Thomas. It was a mat class and I really enjoyed it and thought, "I could teach this." Soon after, I enrolled in the Pendelton Pilates Teacher Training Course.
What types of students have you worked with?
Elite athletes, moderate exercisers, and couch potatoes will all benefit from her instruction.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Pilates is a practice, not something one "does." It takes time, practice, and patience to learn and execute the movements properly. Time would be the major component. Is there time in your schedule to take class at least once a week? Also, identifying an objective as to why you want to begin the practice. It is also important for the potential instructor to know your physical issues.
