He “gets” my son. Is able to relate to him and joke with him and make great progress with my son with lessons. My son struggles to learn and Dan is able to teach him.

  • Jack Gilley

It’s fun and I’ve got a lot of experience and progress learning and improving my baritone skills.

  • Ian Minton

It is a relaxed but still serious time for improvement

  • Laura Holmberg

Dan makes lessons so easy by coming to my son’s school, communicating through text and email and a painless payment process. The improvement in my son’s playing is undeniable. Several of the band directors have spoken to me about it and he received the highest score at the most recent OMEA Solo and Ensemble competition. I am so glad we found Innovative Brass!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

1) Sign up for a free introductory lesson at

2) Take the lesson to meet the teacher and create a plan

3) Gain access to a teacher dedicated to helping you improve so that you fall in love with playing your instrument. If you aren't satisfied, we'll help you find another teacher!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have my Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. I am also a state certified music educator in the state of Ohio. I have experience teaching privately, in public schools, and in world-class drum and bugle corps. These experiences help me to provide a better education to each of my students.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$29.99 for 30 minutes or $59.99 for 1 hour.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with students of all ages! If a student has any learning needs I am not only capable of meeting those needs, but willing and patient.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Many music lessons teachers are boring and ineffective. Find someone that is a great teacher AND player, and makes your lessons fun. Not only will you be getting better information from that person, but you will enjoy playing your instrument and find practicing much easier.
