About
I'm a textile artist and organizer who believes art has the power to help us grow as individuals and communities. I have more than 5 years experience teaching individual and group classes in sewing, quilting, dyeing, screen printing, embroidery, and linoleum block printing. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Although I have set projects I like to use with sewists of different levels, I'm always happy to adjust my approach to what you'd like to learn and how you learn best!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters of Art and Social Engagement from Moore College of Art, and have taught in diverse communities across the country.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My starting rate is $35 an hour with a two hour minimum, but can consider discounts for group classes or multiple sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
Burnt out after a decade of non-profit fundraising and communication work, I decided to refocus my life around making art, and empowering other people to make it as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught in one of the most prestigious art schools in the country, in women's prisons, and everywhere in between. Although I mostly teach adults, I am comfortable working with youth as young as 12.
