About
My name is Samarie Walker, former UCONN, Kentucky, and international pro women's basketball player. From youth to the pros, I've won several MVP and First Team awards. I was a McDonald's and WBCA All-American (before they had the Jordan Games), was invited to the USA Olympic team tryouts 3x, and was also projected to be a WNBA draft pick.
My life, basketball career, and lack of support for my mental health taught me to be who I need at all times. This has led me to being a lifestyle coach and basketball and sport performance trainer. With kids, I always try to put myself in my shoes at that age. How would I want someone to treat me if I was nervous or didn't understand something? What would I want my coach to say when I'm having a bad practice or game? As an adult, how do I want someone to speak to and see me when I'm trying my hardest but the results may not always show?
