About

Baseball is a game and should above all be played to be enjoyed. I spent 20 years on various diamonds across the country. I also am a progressive father of 4. I know that kids aren't built the same way they were 20, 30 or 40 years ago. I believe the drive and motivation is there and it's important for kids to find that drive in a healthy way. Fundamental baseball is more than just the fundamentals of baseball. It's teaching this new generations of ball players the fundamentals of life and that they are capable! Should your child come to me they will be learning baseball from experiences I've had as a 3-time Oklahoma 6A State Champion (2007-2009), I also played at the collegiate level for Redlands CC in El Reno, OK. I was taught baseball by my grandfather, Oklahoma Baseball Hall of Fame member, Herb Dallis. He was the former Head Baseball Coach at Oral Roberts (1970-1976). He also...

• Amassed a record of 180-117

• Led ORU to its first NCAA Tournament berth

• Led ORU to first ever top 10 ranking

He also coached at the junior college and high school levels. Coaching at Eastern State College in Wilburton, OK and winning the first ever OK 6A State Championship in 1996 with the Tahlequah Tigers and achieving a national ranking. He retired in 2004 as the coach at Sapulpa High School. Occasionally your child MAY receive instruction from him as well.

When it comes to being a positive force in your child's life and teaching them about how baseball relates to life I have 6 years of experience as a direct care supervisor at Tulsa Boys Home. I spent years supervising the residential portion of the adolescent substance abuse program and the DHS program.

In conclusion, I'm a father of 4 and I have been away from the game for too long. The game brings me joy and I want to bring that joy to your child. The world is overrun with unhappy people, so we, as the leaders of the next generation have a responsibility to do it right.

Thank you for reading and I hope you choose me to work with your child (girl or boy) I WILL NOT discriminate. If they want to play, well then, LET'S PLAY(BALL)!

This type of work makes me want to dive further in everyday. It brings me joy because I simply love the game, I love to compete and I enjoy looking for new ways to learn and be better than I was the day before. The teacher CAN BE TAUGHT believe it or not. The game was everything for me but I neglected everything else. So what do I want your child to learn? Well, Trevor Lawrence said it best,

"I don't need football to make me feel worthy as a person. I purely love the game and everything that comes with it. The work, the team, the ups and downs. I am a firm believer in the fact that there is a plan for my life and I'm called to be the best I can be at whatever I am doing."

Frequently asked questions

I like to talk to the student alone initially so I can get their real answers, not the parents.  I want to hear what position THEY want to play, the things they think they need to improve on and who they are as a person. The parents may then rejoin and ask any questions or address any concerns.

The first lesson is simply determining where your student is at in his/her game. We just do a basic run through of so.e fundamental workouts. In this lesson the parent may shadow me so that I can get to know you and your student a little better. After lesson one I will ask the parent to either watch from the car or the bleachers. We will have plenty of water breaks where the parents can either talk with me or their child about something specific.

NEW*

I am also offering a new program for parents and children or both. It is essentially lessons for life. Teaching parents how to be successful parents in this modern, progressive world and helping kids discover their own self worth and passions so that they and YOU can love their life! CALL FOR DETAILS!

I started giving lessons in high school and college to younger kids. I've coached two different little league teams and the Jenks 8th grade team. 10 years later I have 4 kids and have spent a majority of that time as a direct care supervisor at Tulsa Boys Home.

You name a type of kid and ive worked with them. I gave lessons to younger kids in high school. Coaching at places like Jenks you work with all various types. Working at the Boys Home had me facing kids that were fresh out of juvie for anything from marajuana to attempted murder. I also spent time in the DHS program working with kids suffering from the various forms of abuse, neglect and abandonment issues. Trust me, i've seen it all!

Trevor Lawrence telling Sports Illustrated that football isn't life. That he wants to be the best to ever do it and he works hard or harder then anyone around him but he has passions other then football. He has a life that is full of possibilities.  If he were to have a career ending injury tomorrow he would still make it. He loves things other than sports.

Look for a coach that is ready to teach and to learn because the ways of old aren't as effective anymore. Look for someone that will build your kid up. Find someone humble your child can learn from. A coach that will help their student discover their own confidence and self worth. I want to see my students not be scared to strike out. I dont want them to try and hit or field purely out of fear of having to run or getting yelled at. That's not okay and there is no place for it at Fundamental Baseball.

They should just be honest. I want them to tell me what they want, not their parents projections. I want them to feel like they matter for who they are and not for who they think they are supposed to be according to everyone else around them.
