What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A student should always think about what it is that they desire to achieve first and foremost. Secondly, they must be clear about what they are willing to do to gain that level of achievement. Once you know what you want and if your willing to do the work, you will learn be required to learn the nuances of the art you choose. For instance, Tai Chi is great for everyone at all ages for low impact, relaxing movement to help heal your body if that is what you are looking for. If you are looking for a high performance art that will help you achieve maximum levels of strength, flexibility and awareness, Bagua would be my recommendation. If your a beginner to healing arts, I would recommend starting with Yoga or Qigong to help give you a foundation for any type of movement you want to achieve in the future.
