What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have mostly private students and work with them on what interest them most.
self defense, traditional karate, tournaments and weapons are some of the topics.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started in martial arts at a very young age and have owned schools as well as travel nationally to teach. I currently teach my main group of students who own and operate schools in several different states.
I enjoy teaching so I am always looking to help other.

The cost is based on what you are looking for and how often you train.
as a base I charge $35.00 a lesson
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 1982 in Wyoming and have been teaching to this day! I love it
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with children as young as 4 and my oldest student is 94.
I have worked with students in wheelchairs, learning disabilities and many other high needs students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We line to attend events that deal with learning on a social level. Where 50 + instructors from many different martial arts come together and exchange ideas.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
One of the most important aspects you can find in the teacher is someone who understands your needs and what it is you're trying to accomplish. Always ask lots of questions and if they are asking high prices to advance to new belts look carefully at that group.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their goals are, what they want to accomplish and how the instructor would help you reach those goals
