I graduated from the American Academy of Fine Art college in 1980, with a graphic arts degree. I moved to Portland, Or. 38 years ago. I had a booth at the Portland Sarurday Market for a few years. When at the market I was asked to be a courtroom artist for channel 2 news, KATU here in Portland. I worked with the news team for a few years. I belonged to the Northwest Pastel Society for 5 years winning a honorable mention. In my business I have painted murals for private clients and I painted 28 doors and a 75 ft. mural at McMinnimen’s Edgefield in Troutdale, Or. I started making one of a kind art dolls about 20 years ago. Ive been in many galleries over the years. My dolls were in 4 doll magazines including a 3 page article in Art Doll Quarterly. I am currently working in pastel, acrylics, charcoal and working in 3D with my dolls and needle felting. I have quite a lot of knowledge to share.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know what the student would like to get out of our time together and see where they are at in they’re studies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to a fanfastic art school for 2 years studying classic life drawing and the fundimentals of drwaing. A great knowledge in the foundations of drawing and painting

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was commissioned to paint a mural in a client’s pool house. She wanted a disney theme. It was great fun. Her grand children and children loved finding all the charactors
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
always ask to see the person’s work and talk to them to see if that would be a good fit for you
